The Procession
By Kahlil Gibran (author of the Prophet)
Edited and Translated by George Kheirallah
1958, Citadel Press
Illustrated. Hardcover with dust jacket.
Less widely known, but unique among his compositions, The Procession is Gibran's first and last major work in verse. Written originally in Arabic, it is presented here in Dr. George Kheirallah's subtle and sensitive translation. He calls it "the unconscious biography of Gibran."
Dr. Kheirallah has also contributed a biographical introduction, which reveals some little-known facts of the poet's life and gives the Western reader some notion of how he is regarded in his native Syria.
No Gibran work would be complete without a selection of his poetically mystical drawings. Those reproduced here were prepared especially for this edition of The Procession.
Pages unmarked. Minor shelf wear to dust jacket. Slight discoloration on top right corner of dust jacket. A few very small discolored spots on hardcover.
